Carl Zeiss Vision
Hard Coating and forget about scratches
The benefits
As uncoated plastic lenses are not as hard as glass lenses, they need a hard coating to give them added resistance to scratches. A hard coating will increase the lifetime of your plastic lenses.

Product info
Different technologies can be used to apply hard coatings. Two possibilities are ion-assisted vacuum deposition and the dip lacquer technique.

Carl Zeiss Vision solutions
We offer you hard coatings as a standard feature on practically all of our high-index plastic lenses.

Our top-of-the-line coating packages consist of:
hard coating + multilayer anti-reflective coating + dirt repellent coating

Hard coatings protect plastic lenses against external influences. A plastic lens with a hard coating is as much as six times harder than an uncoated lens.
Another benefit: the lens is also more resistant to abrasion.
